1 6. (withdrawn): A system for managing a session that runs in a telecommunication 
network and a data network comprising: 

a first device that receives data from a data source; and 
a session management server; wherein 

said session management server is connected to the first device through the 
telecommunication network and is connected to the data source through the data network; 

said session management server controls the flow of data from the data source to the first 

device; 

wherein the first device controls the session management server; 

wherein the session management server performs a data manipulation function; and 

wherein the data manipulation function is at least one of zoom and fast forward. 

17. (withdrawn): A system for managing a session that runs in a telecommunication 
network and a data network comprising: 

a first device that receives data from a data source; and 
a session management server; wherein

said session management server is connected to the first device through the 
telecommunication network and is connected to the data source through the data network;

wherein the session management server performs a data manipulation function; and 
wherein the data manipulation function fast forwards to specific points in at least one of 
an audio, video and text file. 

18. (withdrawn): A system for managing a session that runs in a telecommunication 
network and a data network comprising: 

a first device that receives data from a data source; and 
a session management server; wherein 

said session management server is connected to the first device through the 
telecommunication network and is connected to the data source through the data network; 

said session management server controls the flow of data from the data source to the first 

device; 

wherein the first device controls the session management server; 
wherein the session management server performs a data manipulation function; and 
wherein the session management server continues to receive data from the data source 
while the data manipulation function is being performed.

26. (original): A method for managing a plurality of sessions comprising: 
initiating a first session in a first device connected to a data source; 

initiating a second session in the first device while the first data session is still running; 
stopping the first session in the first device; and 
continuing the first session in a session management server.

resuming the first session in the first device at the point at which the first session was interrupted. 

28. (original): The session management method of claim 26, wherein the first 
session and the second session are both data sessions.

the first session is a data session and the second session is a voice session.

initiating a session in a first device connected to a data source; 
stopping the first session in the first device; and

resuming the stopped first session in the first device at the point at which the session was 
interrupted.

a first device that is able to receive data from a data source; and 

a session management server connected to the first device and the data source that 
controls the flow of data from the data source to the first device; 

wherein the first device is used to control the session management server; and 
the session management server performs a spoofing function.

initiates the first session via the session management server, and the first device initiates the 
second session via the session management server. 

45. (new): The session management method of claim 26, wherein the session 
management server manages each session initiated by the first device. 

46. (new): The session management method of claim 26, wherein the session 
management server performs a spoofing function for the first device. 

47. (new): The session management method of claim 26, wherein the session 
management server provides a service to the first device, the service corresponding to each 
session of the first device managed by the session management server. 

48. (new): The session management method of claim 47, wherein the service 
provided by the session management server is in addition to one or more services provided by 
the data source. 

49. (new): The session management method of claim 26, wherein the first device is 
continuously connected to the session management server.
